Chinatown is a fascinating destination of history and culture, offering a unique combination of Vietnamese and Chinese culture.
The tour begins at 08:00. Meet with our local guide at the Opera House and transfer by taxi to Chinatown. We start at a 19th-century temple dedicated to Thien Hau, the Goddess of the Sea, admire the unique architecture, and feel ourselves in the serene atmosphere cherished by the locals
Then, a short stroll away, visit the pagoda dedicated to Quan Am, the Goddess of Mercy. Established in 1816, it showcases a combination of Taoist and Buddhist elements, expressing the religious diversity of the Chinese community here.
On the way, we also wander into the bustling heart of the Cho Lon area. Here, you can find a vast array of goods, from fresh produce to textiles and souvenirs, traditional herbs, silk, mechanical tools… Then, take a short break at the coffee shop by sipping a cup of cold coffee to cool down from our walk. Later, continue to Cha Tam Church. It is over 100 years old, a unique architectural site; it is a special blend of Chinese and European Gothic architecture.
We conclude the tour at the flower Ho Thi Ky market that was established in 1987, which is the largest wholesale market for fresh flowers in Saigon, becoming a famous and attractive destination for Saigoners.
Note: The meeting point is at the front entrance of the opera house. We highly recommend start at the tour at 8:00 Am with the cool weather
