Visiting the highlights of Saigon to admire historic landmarks from colonial times and hidden gems, seeing the contrast of the old with the modern in Saigon.
This tour starts at either 8 AM or 1 PM. Begin with a visit to the iconic Saigon Central Post Office, built between 1886 and 1891, now considered a symbol of Saigon and one of its most renowned landmarks. From there, stroll around the major sights of colonial Saigon City: the CIA Building, associated with the famous last helicopter photo in the Vietnam War; the City Hall; the Opera House; and the Continental Hotel.
Next, take a leisurely stroll through the historic central market before reaching the city’s oldest prewar-era apartment, built in 1886. Explore the vibrant boutiques and cafe run by the young in there. Pause at a coffee shop to relax and soak in the atmosphere before continuing your walk.
We keep strolling to Indochina Bank in the 1920s by the side of the river; the building has an Indochinese architectural style (a combination of French and Cambodian architecture). Far away, we can also see another residential district through an old French bridge.
We conclude the tour at the Dan Sinh Market, which is known as the industrial mechanical materials market, and the Chinese temple nearby.
Note: The meeting point is at the front entrance of the Saigon Central Post Office. This tour starts at 8 AM or 1 PM. We highly recommend choosing the tour in the morning with cool weather.
